Dr. Prabhakaran Jayaprakasan completed his MBBS in Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2001 from Government Medical College, Thrissur - India. He completed his Masters in Orthopaedics in 2007 from S.C.B Medical College, Cuttack - India. Thereafter he worked as a Tutor in Paediatric Orthopaedics at Christian Medical College, Vellore from 2007 -2008. He went on to do a Fellowship in Joint Replacements under Dr A.V Gurava Reddy at KIMS, Hyderabad. He took up a position as Assistant Professor in Orthopaedics at Amala Medical college and Cancer Institute, Trissur.

In 2009, he became a Consultant Orthopaedics at Royal Hospital, Kunnamkulam - India. In 2012, he took up the same position at Aswini Hospital Pvt Ltd in Trissur too. In 2013.He has an MRCS (2011) and FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics, 2018) from the Royal college of Surgeons in England, UK. He has also undergone a clinical fellowship in Shoulder and sports medicine under Dr Ashish Babhulkar at DMH, Pune in 2014 and the prestigious SICOT Spine fellowship under Dr S. Rajashekaran at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, India (2019). He also underwent a clinical observation in Foot and ankle reconstruction under Dr Stephan Guillo at Bordeaux, France in 2019.

His area of interests are Shoulder Surgery (minimally invasive), Joint Replacement Surgery    (Shoulder, knee and hip), Sports Medicine (Wrist, shoulder, knee and ankle), Ankle and Foot Reconstruction (open and minimally invasive), and Spine Surgery.
